NEW YEAR

January 1st, 2017

   New Year

Blue sky gives big hugs

Strong wind kisses every lip

Warming sun caresses our skin

Rain washes everything to new

Time counts down slowly

We all breathe deep

Life

            Moves

            On

                 To

                       The

                              Beat

                                  Of

                                              Joy

Canyon Four Square

December 15th, 2016

fullsizerender

Canyon Four Square

Four 12 x 12 paintings form one

Painted from the photos that I took on a whitewater raft trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.

The cactus was blooming on the rock edge looking back down at the Colorado River

The sun turned the water gold many times but at this second the green and blue were gone leaving only the gold

When the Little Colorado joins the water is pure Ice Blue as it tumbles over the rocks to join the mighty Colorado

Looking down the current and rock patterns show the flowing motion  that cuts through the Grand Canyon

Four Future Paintings

July 16th, 2016

The place is the Grand Canyon, the subject is the Colorado River but….

the 4 small parts of the canyon are very different.

Looking down, Looking up, Gold water, Blue water, Green water, and lots of movement in the water,

Then add rocks and plants and these little parts pick up big feelings!

Here are photos of the starts.  Under painting is in Acrylic but I will finish them in Oil  12 x 12 size

Canyon Colors Collide

June 26th, 2016

Canyon Colors Collide

Reunion with magic

fantasy and glory.

Rocks and water

tell an ages old story.

Edges of sunlight splashed

on a river’s past generations.

Colors consistent with

children’s paint fascinations.

New memories are made

as stories are told.

There is nothing but joy in the

ledges of gold.

24 x 48 Oil Painting

This is not photo specific but is memory perfect!

To look up and look down at the same time was important.

To get the feeling of being small and big at the same time seemed to happen without trying.

The layers of texture and brilliance of color, makes this memory snapshot perfect !

Thank You GITAP

June 18th, 2016

Thank You for a great ride GITAP

IMG_4776 IMG_4777

To the baggage trucks for taking the bags needed so I could ride with just daily gear

IMG_4780 IMG_4804 IMG_4828

Thank you trails and roads

Even if there was sun and wind, bumps and hills the total picture was fun.

IMG_4786 IMG_4802 IMG_4804 IMG_4813 IMG_4814 IMG_4815 IMG_4827 IMG_4850 IMG_4852 IMG_4855

Rivers, corn, wind farms, and roads.  Trees to sit under and clouds to give some shade

ALL made the trip a memory of biking fun!

IMG_4841 IMG_4792 IMG_4807 IMG_4856 IMG_4795 IMG_4807

BUT it is the bikers and friends that top the list

friends to bike with, camp with, stop and rest with, and have food and music times,

(even shower with but no photos of that LOL)

JUST SO YOU KNOW

We may complain of heat and sun

we may be up set with wind and tar

but

riding by bike is best by far

not fast in a car

We go with the things that nature throws

this way our spirit grows.

It shows in hands here that help and the health of the faces .

biking …. age it erases!
