Finding Tranquility

Finding Tranquility In A Sea Of Questions

On the road to mowing I am moving along

 IMG 20130505 082423 988 300x168 Finding Tranquility

There are boxes packed

 2012 12 16 14 26 17 172 e1367942416545 169x300 Finding Tranquility

My mom is happy and getting ready for this adventure

 IMG 20130427 182311 967 300x168 Finding Tranquility

The backyard Red-tailed Hawk has agreed to watch over my wonderful yard aviary.

I will miss this yard but there are other places with trees and birds.

I am most definitely wanting to get my bike-down and rolling!

So

IMG 20130424 185834 4311 300x168 Finding Tranquility

all points must match, all dots must connect, and the stars must aline

So the timing of this move

Can go smooth and fast so life can roll on with a calming feeling.

As Of Now I Can See This All coming Together

Change in the air

April 28th, 2013

NEW NEWS

Soon...actually very soon!

my home will go on the market in June

I will move my Mom to a Senior Assisted Home in Oregon,IL

AND

I will move me, to a place I still must find, in Oregon IL too.

This will put my mom and I in the same town as my daughter Danica.

For this move I must box up my things for the time it takes

to sell and then find a new home for me.

A short time is my hope!

AND

that will affect my art business.

Moving my Studio, Gallery, Workshop, and Office

may put everything in to a temporary stop pattern.

To avoid boxing all paintings in my inventory I am going to have

a

MOVING SALE

on

E bay.

A three-day sale for each painting

watercolors that are on the smaller size

framed with glass will go on auction first.

PLEASE check it out

eBay.com listed in this category: Art > Direct from the Artist > Paintings

Any trouble finding painting by Rae Ann Hoehm contact me at

artbyrae@comcast.net

I will be weaving a new life with the fabric I have now,

along with newly added colors and threads

from the challenge and fun of this move!

I will have internet access, email, FACEBOOK,

probably just not the home computer setup.

Taste The Light painting 171x300 Spring Update

TASTE THE LIGHT

I had canvas that was painted over wax.  The paints added by my grand kids in Washington state back yard.  Once they added the colors, under some direction then the wax was ironed out and I had something close to the pattern that I wanted.  Next is the addition of oil paint and time with the new design.  Some canvas is now stretched but the painting is not finished yet.

A thought about my Mom

March 2nd, 2013

Mom, now 93, can not  hang-gliding or surf-sailing anymore but I bet she can still do it in her mind. When she retired at about the age I am now we did some surf-sailing classes together. She was 65 and I was 36 then. I might have been stronger but her balance and knowledge of the wind really gave her the advantage.

This is a photo of one of her paintings, when she was in my painting classes at that time.

( Can not find this so I will post It later)

This is a photo of Mom hang-gliding , I had to watch from the ground!

(so I will have to find tis also)

Hang-gliding is hovering in a wonderful place, high above and floating on the wind. Like a bird in the air and with a view that is movement itself.

Realization!

Biking and Surf-sailing have a lot in common (especially in the rain)

So Mom...I am still using the classes we took so many years ago.

Pushed or held back by the wind

Legs bent and working to control the direction and add to the speed

Arm using pressure to steer in the desired direction

Aware of what can change quickly and the way the wind is blowing

Biking or Surf-sailing

or

life in general

It is ba;ance and knowledge that is needed

along with

strength and consistency

Sweet Creation

March 2nd, 2013

I posted the start of this painting a little while ago but

now it is finished.  This has been fun, The words that go with this painting are below.

Sweet Creation Painting 300x259 Sweet Creation

Oil and Acrylic  25 x 29

SWEET CREATION

Our universe was set into chaos and motion.

Then humans build and organized all the commotion,

Children unlock the puzzles and knock down the blocks

They want everything out of the box

Playful patterns and plans are set in containment

Them to our distraction they do not stay consistent

Changes that through adults into anxious anticipation

Children view as continual animation.

Viewed through the eyes of children in our care

There is good and sweetness everywhere

Listen to our children, our universe is amazing!

Colorful, dramatic, worth song and loud prizing!

Sweet Creation

January 31st, 2013

Someone asked where I get ideas for paintings.  I thought  this next one might be a fun example.

I posted the paintings my grandkids painted over Christmas. Melody (1 and a half) painted Candylandhttp://www.artbyraeblog.com/2013/01/14/melodys-first-try-with-a-brush/ and David (4 and a half) painted his Universehttp://www.artbyraeblog.com/2013/01/14/paintings-by-david/.

I am going to combine their two ideas onto a canvas that the kids put paint onto in the Washington back yard.

In the Beginning 300x225 Sweet Creation
In The Beginning...The canvas started this way

The second step was to find the design and fit it into the concept of combining the Universe and Candyland......Sweet Creation was born by trying to see through the eyes of children

A Taste 300x225 Sweet Creation

Here is a taste of the idea

another bite 300x225 Sweet Creation

Another little bite

This is where the painting is now but there will be some windows with stain glass and more use of the background spaces as candy and distant universe

Beginning of the painting 300x225 Sweet Creation

In the beginning there is what looks like chaos

Universal Door

January 26th, 2013

This is a new painting.

Universal Door is mixed media and about 36 x 72.

It will be backed and framed in blue material.

Until I can hang it a good photo is hard to take

Door To The World: and whats beyond

There are grand bridges to cross

but

they may be wet

even

soap suds slippery wet.

Boards you can not just slip on

but

step unexpectedly through.

There is a fantastic universe out there

with love

with surprises

with all that you desire

There will be doors to step through

some with locks

some with keys

some lock tighter then a steel vault box.

When there is no door in the wall

No door at all

You may have to that makes that door

Yes, a door through which to soar

Do you see it?

Do you understand the choices?

Do you have faith?

To take the first step

To finish the journey

To find you

Choices are yours

Chances will be there

Changes always happen

Where is the world within you?

It was there when you were born

so

embrace that inner-child and fly.
